Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian born actress. She received the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress for The Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. She speaks fluently French, German English, and Romanian. Her father, who is a theatre professor in one of the top Romanian theatre schools, is a theatre teacher. She was awarded the Best Female Actor of the Year 2000 Award in the young Actor Gala Mangalia. The award was given to her as a European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in the year 2008. She was a Romanian actress in Cristian Mungiu's film 4 months 3 weeks and Two days, 4 months (four months three weeks and two three weeks and two days) that was awarded three weeks, four months and two days) which was awarded the Palme d'Or and other prizes at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was another film in which she appeared. The role she played was Yasim Awar in BBC's 5-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca appeared in the Romanian drama Boogie and in Oliver Hirschbiegel's critically popular Five Minutes of Heaven. She appeared as Irma in Fury 2014, in which she played a German name aunt of Emma.
