Jill Hennessy
She is a native Edmontonian with Irish, Italian and Swedish origins, in addition to French, Ukrainian French and Swedish. Her twin sister, Jacqueline is also an actor. Jill was able to learn various languages including Italian, French, Spanish while growing up. After she turned twelve years of age, Jill started to get interested in acting. Her career as an actor began in Toronto as she was the assistant for David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers, along with her younger sister. Then she studied improv comedy at Second City with Deb Kimmet. A few years later, she relocated into New York and signed a deal to portray Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid on the long run of the hit show, Law & Order. For the duration of her 3 year stint and beyond, she spent her time performing in feature films, such as RoboCop 3 (1993), Ron Howard's The Paper (1994), and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). The next few years she had a chance to appear in some forgettable films and in 1999, she was offered a leading role in the miniseries uremberg with Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York, Exit Wounds and other major projects were scheduled to come. In 2001, she got her first lead role on the crime show on NBC Crossing Jordan and in 2007, she won the Gracie Allen award as "Outstanding Female lead in an Drama Series" in recognition of her performance in the series. She married another actor, Paolo Mastropietro in 2000. They have two children. In 2007, she was inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame in 2007.
